October 12-13-14, 2022 – Cărturești Verona, A5 Studio Space

SIGN PAINTING WORKSHOP with Renia Maj – Traffic Design, Poland

Event organized in partnership with the POLISH INSTITUTE IN BUCHAREST and ASOCIAȚIA EPHEMAIR

Workshop coordinator: Renia Maj, graphic designer at Traffic Design, Poland

Participants will learn to create a hand-painted signage, from concept to complete execution, for a specific exhibition space in Bucharest.

During the workshop, participants will take part in designing and fabricating a sign for A5 Studio Space in Piața Amzei. Three days of working and learning will result in assembling a hand-painted sign for the gallery. Over the course of the event, the tutor will share useful tips on how to design functional and aesthetic signage, so it will adorn the streets, instead of adding to the all too prevalent advertising clutter.

An introductory lecture at the beginning of the event will introduce participants to signage fabrication techniques and principles of environmental type composition.

Day 1
• Introductory lecture [signage fabrication techniques, composing lettering on a facade, analysing case studies from the Traffic Design portfolio]
