Rudolf Gräf, key note speaker @ Bucharest Graphic Days, first edition

We are glad to have Rudi from Timișoara in our event. A careful observer of the public space and its functionality, he will tell us his point of view, of an architect, about the information and the communication system of a city.

Rudolf Gräf is an architect with a degree from Graz University of Technology (TU Graz, AU), established the Vitamin Architects office in Romania, and worked on urban development plans and public space design. He worked as an urban planning consultant for the Chernivtsi (UA) city hall and GIZ Project Integrated Urban Development in Ukraine between 2016-2019. Since 2020 he is an advisor to the mayor of Timișoara for climate friendly urban development and public space management.

At our conference he will speak about connections, semiotics
Public space is dominated by visible and invisible information. It is also a perfect informant who brings together the data used by marketing departments, public administration, information services etc. The visual component is meanwhile the more than functional decorative part of this ubiquitous public space and yet only a fragment of the media reality in which we live. How we perceive information in the public space connecting, how it translates into signs and how we read them, is a complex field of research deepened in semiotics that we will try to approach from different points of view.
