The workshop is aimed at children between 9 and 13 years of age and will begin with a guided tour of the exhibition Story Character at Mansarda Cărturești, including an introduction to book illustration (with a focus on Romanian book illustration) and the works of various contemporary illustrators in Romania. The practical side of the workshops will focus on exercising participants’ artistic imagination and abilities by developing a character from a favourite book or film, chosen together with the workshop coordinator.

Day1 – 2h30 – tour of the exhibition, short presentation about some illustrators; choice of character, sketching of the chosen character, discussions and guidance

Day 2 – 2h30 – artistic and technical guidance, examples and recommendations of various graphic solutions and techniques, finishing the drawing

Participants will be encouraged to work as freely and creatively as possible.

The children will receive individual feedback from the coordinator.
