WHERE: Cărturești, A5 Studio Space SIGN PAINTING WORKSHOP

Participants will learn to create a hand-painted signage, from concept to complete execution, for a specific exhibition space in Bucharest.

WHERE: Cărturești, Arthur Verona ILLUSTRATION WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN: A FAVOURITE CHARACTER

The workshop will be given by Petra Martin (Pebbl).
The workshop is aimed at children between 9 and 13 years of age and will begin with a guided tour of the exhibition at Mansarda Cărturești, including an introduction to book illustration (with a focus on Romanian book illustration) and the works of various contemporary illustrators in Romania. The practical side of the workshops will focus on exercising participants’ artistic imagination and abilities by developing a character from a favourite book or film, chosen together with the workshop coordinator.

WHERE: NATIONAL MUSEUM OF ROMANIAN PEASANT POSTER MAKING WORKSHOP – In partnership with the Polish Institute in Bucharest

With Agata Kulczyk and Marcin Markowski – Poznan, Poland.

Participants will learn to create a poster, from concept to complete execution, on a given format. Subject: Romanian tourism promotion posters based on concept, visual and technical solutions present in R. Kaja’s work.
Workshop coordinators: dr. Agata Kulczyk and dr. Marcin Markowski from the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznan, Poland.

Day 1 – theoretical presentation, concepts, sketches, discussions and coordination
Day 2 – feedback, artistic and technical guidance, poster completion in digital format

WHERE: OAR, BUCHAREST CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP

With Ovidiu Hrin - Synopsis, Timișoara.

For two days the workshop focus will be on on training participants to create a work using texts (poetry, lyrics) and calligraphic writing, under the guidance of the coordinator. Participants (preferably with basic knowledge of calligraphic writing) will use artistic self-expression and knowledge gained in the workshop to make their own work. The content they will create will be their own choice. We recommend the participants to select topics related to culture and urban memory. For the workshop, participants can select or prepare in advance a fragment (poetry, quote, etc.) they like.
